Globally Harmonized System (GHS) Resources
California's Hazard Communication standard has recently adopted the international Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). With this change comes a new Cal/OSHA requirement to provide training on the new requirements. All employees who come into contact with hazardous chemicals must be trained on the new Safety Data Sheet or SDS (formally Material Safety Data Sheet or MSDS) and new labels which include new pictograms and modified signal words.
